The first time I heard about Project 365, it was from one of my favorite bloggers, KimberlyMichelle. I was intrigued enough to ask her about it, google it, and fall in LOVE with it. Unfortunately, I was several days beyond the (in my mind) most perfect day to start the project, January 1st. I resolved that maybe I’d start one in 2010. But I was disappointed.
Then I had a thought. What if I started it on my birthday, February 24th? It would give me enough time to sort of prepare myself (because it really feels like a resolution, or something I needed to think through a bit), and it would be a chance for me to capture a year in the life of me. An age-year. My 28th year, to be specific.
Ironically, my friend Rachel started her Project 365 (also here) on her birthday too, back in late January. She’s been taking some great shots, documenting some really awesome things, and has only made the Project 365 appeal stronger for me.
So, today I begin.
I will be posting a picture a day, every day over on a separate blog I created for the project. Stefanie’s (Project 365) Stories.
What are my rules?
1) Take at least one picture every day. The picture must be taken by me, but can be taken with my camera, my iPhone, my friends camera, my macbook's built-in iSight camera, etc.
Though I take great pride in my photographic memory (just ask my husband, ha!), pictures taken with my mind are simply not allowed.
2) Post one picture per post per day on this blog.
3) I can take a blog-break when times get busy, and post several days' photos at once, but each in a separate post.
4) As a bonus: If I inspire you to start your own Project 365 (even if you have different rules than mine), and you let me know (via email or in the comments), I'll post your first Project 365 picture in that blog with a link to yours.
I can't make any promises that I'll be all that good or interesting on my other blog, but I’m looking forward to having some fun with this new little project of mine. And, I really hope you’ll join me over there too!

I LOVE that idea! It sounds like a really cool project, have fun!
This is so cool. I miiight just have to copy you and start my own on my birthday too. We shall see... I look forward to seeing your pictures!
Please do copy me! I want to have a section on there for "Your Project 365" along with all "My Project 365" so I'm hoping some people will take me up on the whole rule number 4 thing :). Plus, how freaking much fun would it be to see all those pics of awesome Japan!? Think of how much more you'll be aware and have your camera when you're out and about there? So, so COOL!
You know I'll be following and you can link to mine any time you want. I am good about posting them the day of unless I'm out of town.
I think this might be a better link for my project - the blog link didn't seem to show them all.

Rachel, I added the flickr link to the post, but I realized that if someone wanted to look at your 365 project for inspiration, they'd have to view it through your blog and not flickr b/c in all liklihood they're not invited to your flickr account. So the original link (still there) is to your blog with 365 tagged so all the posts you've tagged 365 should show up. Thanks for the link in the comments though too!! :) You're doing an awesome job with your project. I hope to keep up :)
I don't care which link you use, but when I went to the link you gave to my blog it only went up to day 17 and nothing before that - but I checked and they are all tagged - maybe it only shows a certain number or maybe I don't know what I'm doing?
My Flickr photos for my 365 project are all public - everything without people in it or for a project is public - only photos with people in them that aren't posted elsewhere publicly are made private, only viewable my Flickr friends I approve.
Thanks!
