I had already given him a guitar, and that was really his wedding gift. But I also wanted to give him something incredibly thoughtful and meaningful. This is what I came up with.

I bought colored, assorted cardstock at Michael's and had it cut into squares at Kinko's. I then compiled a very long list of all the things I love about my husband. Some are memories, things he's done once or does all the time...it quickly became my list of all the reasons I couldn't wait to be his wife. I wrote each reason on a separate small square of blue cardstock. I filled this jar (also from Michael's) to the top with my reasons.
The note says:
We met on 05.27.06
We'll marry on 08.31.08
827 of the happiest days of my life
So I've filled this jar with
827 reasons why I can't wait to marry you
Here's to the many, many more reasons I think of every day we spend together.
I love you, Mr. K
Love, (almost) Mrs. K
I used some blue ribbon, a hole punch, and some hot glue to decorate the jar and give it a "corset" back.

The project cost me about $13 in supplies and cutting, plus countless hours. But it was well worth it. Todd spent the night before our wedding reading the cards. There are still about 600 left to look at, so we read them together, a few at a time every day. He loves it.
Did you give your sweetie (or are you planning on giving your sweetie) a super sentimental wedding gift?

(and thanks for stopping by my blog!)
I LOVE this idea! and I love how you packaged it, the extra love you put it in shows :)
P.S. Thanks for stopping by my blog, too.
Very cute idea. Did you make sure that 800+ sheets would fit in the jar first or did you write more than one thing on each card? Seems like it wouldn't fit!
Rachel - one reason per card! I did actually put all 827 into the jar first, just to be sure. There is a stack of about 30 that I had to put down the back of the jar (not stacked)...because I was about 30 shy of them fitting perfectly, I contemplating doing number of days since our first date (about 4 months after we met...so like 120 less reasons!) or something similar. However, in the midst of planning the gift, I casually asked Todd, "When would *you* say our story began?" and he said the day we met...so I went ahead with it and stuck a few cards down the back.
I'm a bit sad and ashamed to confess that Todd still hasn't read ALL the reasons! He reads a few every couple days...says he likes to spread them out. I guess I thought he'd be eager to read every one right away. Hm.
I would FOR SURE read them all right when I got it, but being that he's male, I'm not surprised he wants to spread them out. I KNOW he appreciates it, but dudes are just different. Plus it is a guaranteed pick-me-up or my-wife-loves-me-just-because moment if he does it randomly and spreads them out. Kinda like a jar of greatness when you need it!
